Cold Fronts & Illegals

I think we've already had more cold fronts go through here than we've had in the last two winters. About the only good thing is it only last a couple of days but we sure do freeze when highs are only in the 50's. By Monday it's suppose to be back to 80, so the space heaters will be in use over the weekend.

We're not sure what's going on but this season we've really had an increase in illegal's being in our park. Yesterday morning I looked out our side window and saw about 8 young people standing in front our of trailer about 7:30am. Larry called the Border Patrol and was told it had already been reported and Patrol was in the area. As I said before they (Border Patrol) try not to confront them inside our park, would much rather do this away from here. These are normally young (as the ones yesterday, early 20's) and basically are just trying to get away from this area. There were two things different this time, one - we found out they were never caught (very unusual) and two- when Larry went to Home Depot there was a patrol car on the levee with a officer outside his vehicle and had a M16 (never seen one armed before). So we're thinking they didn't even try to find these guys in our park as there was something more important - like drug runners.

This morning about the same time we saw two patrol cars in our park along with a officer walking behind all the trailers. One of the neighbors said later there were five patrol cars outside our gate. We have a Border Patrol Rep hopefully coming next month and maybe he'll be able to shed some light on why we have so much traffic in the park.

Went and got groceries this morning than Jutta called and wanted to make a run down to Mexico. She wanted to check something out at the pharmacy's there and I can always pick up some Kahlua. It wasn't too busy there, not sure if it was because it was later in the day or if people were staying away after the shooting there on Sat. The papers don't give much out but it had something to do with drug dealers again. It sounds like the locals there did everything they could to protect the Americans by bringing people inside their shops and basically closing the town up until it was safe. This did happen a couple of blocks further in town than we normally go. We aren't worried about going there, it's just like any other place, you have to be aware of what's going on around you. Because of the life style we've choosen (spending nights in the desert, walmart parking lots, or rest areas) we have never felt unsafe but we do have to keep our eyes/ears open. So enough of this.

I was going to walk up and take some pictures of the xmas lights at the clubhouse but will wait for a little warmer night. So guess that's it for now, till next time.................. stay warm up there in Michigan & Ohio
