Buckhorn & Texas Ranger Museum

After leaving the Alamo we walked down to the this hotel (can't remember the name) and had lunch than did a little Christmas Shopping (unplanned) at the River Mall. Our grand-daughter Anissa would go crazy here with three stories of stores. From there we went to the Buckhorn & Texas Ranger Museum. The Buckhorn Saloon started in 1881 when the owner offered to trade deer horns for beer or whiskey. The picture below (copied from their website) shows just a few of the animal heads in the saloon.

Below are some more pictures of inside the musem. Some are mine and some I needed to copy from their website.
This was the last section we came across and we all wished we'd realize it was there. By the time we got to it we were all pretty tired and were ready to get back to the hotel. There were 14 displays scanning over 400 years of Texas History. Really interesting.

I don't really know why there was a huge room of Sharks. I took lots of pictures of this room for our grand-son Darrius. He's five years old and can tell you every type of shark there is. I figured next summer this would be a good way for gr-ma to take a break by pulling these pictures up on the computer and having him name them.

That's it for the Museum. From here we walked back to the hotel and everyone crashed for a hour or so. Tomorrow will be the RiverWalk at night and our boat tour. Be sure to come back.
