Coffee Talk & Wimps

After having chilly damp weather for the last week today turned out to be rather nice. A group of us went over to the Bentsen State Park this morning and had coffee in their little cafe. Forgot my camera so no pictures but this is a neat little place in the back part of the Visitors Center with a few tables and chairs. It's some place different and we might as well give our $$ to the park rather than Starbucks (& a lot cheaper).

One of the conversations was how our clubhouse has so many hard surfaces that its always loud in there. This lead to Larry and Gary having a major discussion on what type of guns they could use to shoot holes in the ceiling to see if that would help with the sound. I believe it started with BB Guns and pretty much went down hill from there with David & Jim not helping much by offering their opinions. I'm not sure what the two woman who weren't with us were thinking but I believe it wasn't long after a machine gun was mentioned that they got up and left.

We were sitting outside this afternoon with Jack and friends started stopping in looking for a happy hour. It was just too nice (72 degrees) not to have one. Of course it only takes one person sitting outside to make a open invitation to start a happy hour but that is what's so great about this life style. We started with one person and ended up with over a dozen. What's bad is by 5:00 everyone was getting cold and left to go home to close doors to keep the heat in. Little did we realize the temperature had dropped to a whopping 70 degrees. Can we all say -Wimps - In our defense the wind did pick up and it turned cloudy.

The local on-line newspapers and TV Stations have headlines of "Winter Blast Coming", "Safety Tips for Driving", "Road Crews preparing". More on this tomorrow.
