Saturday: Our 1st full day of 2011 was a quiet relaxing day. We went up to the Clubhouse to the breakfast at 10am. It was later than normal, I think they figured people would sleep in. Anyway it was a nice serving of Western Omelet, potatoes and coffee cake for $3. We were having dinner with Gary/Marilynn & David/Linda that night so I fixed a cheese potato casserole. It was a simple dinner with each of us bringing our own steaks a dish and some really good wine.
Sunday: The excitement of the day was going over to McAllen Airport and picking Bill & Kathy up. They spent the holidays back in Canada with family and even tho they had a great time they were glad to get back to these temperatures. Along with a lot of other people here Larry spent time in front of the TV watching all the MSU games. And also like a lot of other people he was pretty disappointed on these games. This is not my observation, this is from listing to the guys talk about it on street corners and happy hour.
That afternoon while we were sitting behind the trailer we saw a flat bed trailer go down the road with a Class C on the back. The first sign of something wrong was we could see straight through the trailer. I guess while the people who owned it were at the State Park it caught on fire. They were from Canada and of course everything they have was in the Class C. We rode our bikes over to the parking lot and found the large black area that told us where the vehicle was parked. Can't imagine walking back to where you parked and find it basically gone when your so far away from home.
Monday: Quiet day with doing laundry. It was our night to have happy hour and our group is starting to get rather big. There were two other couples that arrived over the weekend so that brought our happy hour group up to 18.
Tuesday: Went to a class today that I've never done. One of the woman here is a Certified teacher of Tai Chi Chih which is a series of 19 movements with one pose. It was an interesting and different way of doing exercise in a slow and easy movement.
With the holidays over things have slowed down to a nice quiet pace. Construction here in the complex is moving right along and with that it means new people. There are so many that I don't know but hopefully will meet them soon. If your interested in seeing and reading about the development click on Bentsen Palm and check it out.
Guess that's it for now. Till next time..........................................
