Brunch with friends

Thursday -It seems every morning this week therewas something going on and we didn't get our walk in. We did just the 3 mile walk today as I'd gotten some new "walking" shoes and it was the first time of trying them. My old tennis shoes were really getting bad and I was starting to have some pain in my hip. The new shoes really are nice, I'm being forced to walk the way you should and no more pain.

Larry needed to go to Home Depot so we made a trip there. We had a coupon to buy one get one free at a Mexican place called El Pato which is basically a Mexican fast food place like Burger King. It took us awhile to decide what we wanted and finally ordered the Tacos Nortenos which are six tortilla shells with seasoned beef and onions and a really different bean soup. There was one major difference between this place and Burger King - you can buy a bottle of beer. Pretty much any of the Mexican food places you can get a beer or margarita with your lunch, haven't figured out why these places are allowed liquor but never see it in other fast food places.

After lunch we decided to run over to Walgreens to get our passport pictures done. Oh Lord, the only thing I can hope for is the Border Patrol people will keep their comments to themselves when I hand it to them.

Friday - did our 4 mile walk in just under a hour today. Must be the shoes are working. Than ran up to the post office and got the pass port application mailed. Hopefully it won't take too long to get it back. The bummer is when we get to South Dakota this spring to renew our drivers license this State has a secured drivers license so we won't need the passport ID card.

A group of ladies (Dale, Bonnie, Jutta, Kathy, Diane & I) decided at happy hour the night before to go to Mimi's Cafe for brunch as a welcome to Diane. She flew down this week from Massachusetts for a two week vacation out of the cold and snow and she left her husband Mark back there to shovel the snow before going to work.

Speaking of snow I see back home is going to really get socked this weekend. Our new neighbors up there will be testing out the new snow blower we purchased before leaving. Our town has a ordinance that snow of more than a inch has to be removed from the sidewalks within 24 hrs. So we worked out a deal with our neighbors that if we furnished the snow blower he would do both ours and his. Since they don't have a blower this is working out great for both of us.

Guess that's it for tonight. Till next time.............................
