Happy Birthday Hubby

Well my guy turned 62 today. Hard to believe he's getting soooo old - good thing I was a child bride even if it is my second marriage. The good thing is he can start drawing Soc Sec. before it runs out. The bad thing is good old General Motors reduces his pension by the amount that he gets from Soc Sec. Grrrrrrrrrrrr

There have been many birthday wishes on FaceBook and he thanks everyone. But this morning was our monthly community meeting and our friend Gail (or at least he use to be Larry's friend) made an announcement of this special day. So a big happy birthday song was sang.

Yesterday Kathie, Sandy, Marilynn and I went to Mexico. Sandy is visiting Kathie and she wanted to do some shopping there. I drove and let me tell you, riding with three Canadian Woman is an experience in itself. They were using words to describe things that I swear they were just putting me on. Cross the bridge around 9:30 and it took us over a hour to get through the first block. Finally stopped for lunch around 1:30 than worked our way back over the bridge with all our goodies.

The trip home wasn't very good. Once we got close to Mission there was a huge grass fire along the highway and they closed that route and sent everyone over to the only other north/south road. This road ends up going pass the McAllen Mall. It took us about 45 minutes to drive about 2 miles in bumper to bumper traffic. So our half hour drive turned into almost a two hour drive. At least we got to read all the Business Signs along 10th Street. Did you know there are 41 WhatABurgers in this area.

This seems to be a busy week. Had the meeting today and my Thi Chi class. Tonight we're going out for pizza with the Bill/Kathie Bevington and Sandy. Tomorrow is the ladies luncheon and a hair cut appointment in the afternoon. Friday night is the wine/cheese party and Saturday is the community yard sale.

Colder temps suppose to move through tomorrow but warm back up by Sat. for the sale.
